Nutritionist Svitlana Fus shared on Instagram the beneficial properties of nuts and why everyone should eat them every day.
"This is a very satisfying product, they satiate well because they contain proteins, carbohydrates, combined with fats, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. A significant portion of the fat in nuts is valuable mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids belonging to the omega-9, omega-3, and omega-6 groups. Thanks to them, nuts have a positive effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system and the brain," said Fuss.
The expert also added that the WHO calls for adults to include in their healthy diet foods rich in vegetable protein - fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and nuts.
"Of course, vegetable protein, including nuts, is digested a little worse than animal protein because of dietary fiber, which interferes with the work of digestive enzymes," the nutritionist added.
Svitlana Fus advised to buy nuts only in their shells, which protects valuable fats and vitamin E from oxidation.
The fats in peeled nuts quickly oxidize and acquire the taste of bitter oil - from the shell, eat them raw to preserve the beneficial fatty acids and vitamin E. vitamins. It is better to eat nuts raw, separately from chocolate and sweets," the expert summarized.
