Borscht is a delicious Ukrainian dish that can be prepared with various meats, beans, spices, lemon, and even fish.

The cook shared a recipe for a delicious Ukrainian borscht in veal rib broth on Instagram.

Tip: in order not to spoil the taste of the dish, cooks advise not to add vinegar, it can make the dish not only sour, but also unhealthy!


  • 4 veal ribs
  • 1 onion
  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 carrot
  • young cabbage (1/3)
  • 150 ml. tomato paste
  • dry adjika, spices, salt

Method of preparation:

1. Wash the ribs well and remove excess films, add a little oil and dry adjika to them, mix and fry in a well-heated frying pan over high heat until golden brown.

2. Put the ribs in water and bring to a boil, remove the foam and reduce the heat to medium.

3. For frying: fry finely chopped onion, add grated carrots and beetroot strips and fry for 5-7 minutes, add spices and salt.

4. Add the potatoes, roast and finely chopped cabbage to the broth. At this stage, add salt and spices to taste.

5. Cook the borscht for another 30-35 minutes over medium heat until the potatoes are tender.
