Apple strudel is an ideal dessert for tea, which can be made from dough, as well as from pita bread or phyllo dough. To make the filling juicy, it is better to stew the apples in a pan.
Cook Polina shared a recipe for a delicious apple strudel on Instagram, which is crispy and juicy.
Ingredients:
- water - 120 ml.
- oil - 70 ml
- flour - 240 g
- sugar - 1 tsp.
- salt - 0.5 tsp.
The filling:
- apples - 2-3 pcs.
- juice of half a lemon
- cinnamon - 1-2 tbsp
- sugar - 1-2 tbsp.
- breadcrumbs - 3 tbsp.
- nuts - 50 g
- cranberries - 50 g
Method of preparation:
1. To make the dough, mix water, oil, sugar and salt. Add flour in several stages and knead the dough first with a whisk/spatula, then knead it with your hands for 5 minutes and leave it to rest in a bowl.
2. To make the filling, peel and chop apples. Add the remaining ingredients to the apples and mix well.
3. Roll out the dough into a very thin layer. The surface does not need to be floured! The dough should show through, but not tear.
4. Spread the filling, wrap the strudel and place it on a baking sheet covered with parchment and cook for 35-40 minutes at 180 C until golden brown.
