Homemade bagels are a delicious and easy-to-make pastry that can be prepared with a variety of fillings. It is very important to make a good dough, for which you need to choose high-quality butter.
The cook shared a recipe for crispy bagels with apricot jam on Instagram, which would be a perfect alternative to any pie.
Ingredients:
- flour - 300 g
- cold butter - 175 g
- cream cheese - 175 g
- salt - 1/2 tsp.
- egg yolk - 1 pc.
The filling:
- apricot jam - 1 cup
- walnuts - 100 g
- brown sugar - 2 tbsp.
- white sugar - 1 tbsp. l.
Method of preparation:
1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut the cold butter into pieces, add to the flour along with the cream cheese and egg yolk and quickly knead the dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
2. Mix the ground walnuts with the brown and white sugar.
3. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and sprinkle flour on the table. Roll out each part of the dough thinly and spread a thin layer of apricot jam. Sprinkle with a small amount of the nut-sugar mixture.
4. Cut the dough into 16 segments (like a cake) and roll into small bagels. Chill them before baking. Bake the bagels at 170 C for 20 minutes.
Then cool the bagels and sprinkle with powdered sugar!
