Potato casserole with meat: a recipe for a hearty and quick dish
Mashed potatoes can be a standalone dish or a base for making delicious casseroles, zrazy, pancakes, and dumpling fillings.

Ingredients:
- 1 kg of peeled potatoes
- 50 ml of milk
- 50 g of butter
- salt
- 1 egg
Filling:
- 2 tbsp. l. oil
- 1 medium onion
- 0.5 carrots
- 0,5 bell pepper
- 525 g of stewed beef
- 1 tbsp. l tomato paste
- dried garlic, black pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash the potatoes, add butter, warm milk, salt and mix. When the potatoes have cooled slightly, add the egg and mix until smooth.
2. Fry the onion and carrot in a little oil, add the chopped bell pepper and simmer for a few minutes. Then add the tomato paste, fry for 2 minutes and add the stewed beef. Mash the meat with a spatula, add black pepper and dried garlic, and simmer the filling until almost all the moisture has evaporated.
3. Assemble the casserole: grease a baking dish with softened butter. Put half of the mashed potatoes and smooth. Put all the filling on the mashed potatoes, tamp a little with a spatula. Cover with the other half of the mashed potatoes, smooth and brush with melted butter. Bake at 180 C until golden brown, about 40-50 minutes.
