Pies can be made from any kind of dough and with any kind of filling. It is best and most successful to use ready-made puff pastry.
Cook Iryna shared a recipe for a delicious puff pastry pie with mushrooms, fillet and mozzarella on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- puff pastry - 500-600 g
- 1 onion
- 500 g of mushrooms
- 500 g of chicken fillet
- 1 tbsp of flour
- 200 g of cream 20%
- herb mixture "Provence" salt, black pepper
- 180-200 g of mozzarella
- butter
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp of water
- sesame seeds
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the onion into half rings and fry in a little oil until transparent.
2. Add the mushrooms, cut into strips, and fry together until golden brown, remove from the pan.
3. Add a little oil to a frying pan and fry the chicken fillet, cut into strips, until golden brown. Return the mushrooms and onions to the pan. Add salt, black pepper and flour and fry together for a few minutes.
4. Pour in the cream and bring to a thickening over low heat, stirring constantly.
5. Grate the mozzarella and add half of it to the filling, mix well. Cover the mold with parchment and put a square sheet of ready-made puff pastry about 5 mm thick. Put the filling inside the pie, spread it evenly and sprinkle with cheese. Roll the edges of the dough to the center. Brush with egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp of water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
6. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 180 C.
