How to cook rice correctly: simple tips from Yevhen Klopotenko
Rice is one of the tastiest and healthiest foods that can be cooked in many ways. Often it is simply boiled with butter, cooked with seafood, and also used to make milk cereals, cabbage rolls, meatballs, and puddings. But it's worth remembering that these cereals can be easily spoiled – undercooked, overcooked, and very often rice burns.
On his YouTube channel, chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared useful tips on how to cook rice properly so as not to spoil it, as well as what kind of dishes is perfect for this purpose (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
How to cook rice
"Proportions are important for rice. To make it perfect, use 1 part of rice and 2 parts of water," the chef said.
Klopotenko advises first to bring the water to a boil, add the rice, let it boil for about 5 minutes, then turn off and cover the saucepan, and let it stand for about 15 minutes.
The chef claims that this method is suitable for any type of rice, only the cooking time will differ.
1. For round-grain rice – 10 minutes.
2. For unpolished rice – 30 minutes.
