Pea soup will only taste good if the peas are cooked properly. To make it soft, cooks advise pouring water over it overnight, preferably hot water, and be sure to add baking soda.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious pea soup with smoked meats, which will be very satisfying.
Ingredients:
- Split peas - 250 g
- Potatoes - 3-5 pieces
- Onion - 1 pc.
- Carrots - 1 pc.
- Water - 1.8 liters
- Soda - a pinch
- Salt, pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the peas well, add baking soda and cover with boiling water so that the water level is twice as high as the peas. Leave them overnight. In the morning, cover with new water and cook for 40-60 minutes over medium heat.
2. Dice the onion and carrot and fry until soft.
3. Add the diced potatoes and other vegetables to the peas, season with salt and pepper to taste, and cook for another 20 minutes over low heat. Then blend with a blender and serve with smoked meats.
