Soups are a tasty and light dish that is in everyone's diet. They can be prepared in different ways, with different cereals, vegetables, fish and meat. In the fall, they can be more substantial - meat-based, and in the summer - lighter based on vegetables and broth.
Nutritionist Svitlana Fus explained on Instagram whether it is necessary to eat soups and how to cook them properly.
"Low-fat broths made from poultry, rabbit, beef are highly nutritious foods for weakened patients, and puree soups are gentle nutrition for the mucous membrane of the stomach, intestines and for various diseases of the digestive system," Fus said.
Basic rules for cooking soup: ⠀
1. Never overcook vegetables, let them be cooked "al dente".
2. The soup should be based on a variety of vegetables, not just carrots, potatoes, and onions.
"But it can also include a large number of vegetables that people don't really like to use in their diet. For example, celery, parsnips, zucchini, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, all kinds of cabbage, greens," the nutritionist added.
3. No fatty, rich broths.
"Ideally, light broths made from chicken, turkey breast without fat and skin, beef tenderloin, rabbit, lean fish, vegetables, or mushrooms, and best of all, cooked with water," Fus explained.
4. You can add cereals and pasta to the soup in small quantities
5. It is advisable to eat soups without bread, or with 1-2 grain breads.
6. The soup may contain meat, fish, eggs or mushrooms in small quantities.
"Eating soup or not is your personal choice! In the cold season, a bowl of warm soup will always help to saturate the body faster and prevent you from overeating," the expert summarized.
