The perfect homemade dessert for tea is strudel. They can be made from yeast, puff pastry, and filo dough. And you can use any berries, fruits, cottage cheese, nuts, raisins for the filling.
Cook Polina shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious cherry strudel made from phyllo dough.
Ingredients:
- 300 g. cherries (frozen)
- 2-3 tbsp of sugar
- 2 tbsp of cornstarch
- 5 sheets of phyllo dough
- 50-70 g of butter
- 1 egg
Method of preparation:
1. Add sugar and starch to the cherries, cook with constant stirring and thicken over medium heat.
2. Put a sheet of phyllo dough on the parchment and brush with melted butter, do this with each layer except the last.
3. Put the cherries and wrap the strudel. Do not wrap it tightly to prevent it from cracking during baking.
4. Brush the strudel with an egg and put it in a preheated 180-degree oven for 20-30 minutes, aim for a golden crust.
