A blogger from Brazil, Aline Ferreira, died after an unprofessional buttock augmentation surgery. She had a generalized infection due to the use of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA, organic glass).

It turned out that the clinic in Goiânia, Brazil, did not have the appropriate license to perform such manipulations. According to Correo Brasilenze, the biologist Grazielly Barbosa, who was responsible for the operation, was detained by the police.

The 33-year-old influencer, who told about her life, chose the Ame-se clinic in Goiânia to have the procedure performed. After the woman's death, it turned out that the hospital was supposed to be registered with the Regional Council but no registration was found in the name of Grazielly Barbosa. This implies that the plastic surgery was performed illegally.

Ferreira's procedure involved the use of PMMA, an injectable gel that the National Health Surveillance Agency in Brazil recommends only for cases of body deformities caused by serious diseases such as polio.

Aline Ferreira returned home to Brazil shortly after the operation but eventually began to complain of a high fever and abdominal pain. Her husband went to see Dr. Barbosa, but she assured him that the symptoms were typical and that nothing would happen to the patient. The blogger's condition subsequently deteriorated so much that she had to be hospitalized at a local hospital, where she fell into a coma.

The woman suffered cardiac arrest twice: first on Friday, June 28, and then on Sunday, June 30. It finally stopped on Tuesday, July 2, in the evening. The doctor was arrested the next day.

The Ame-se clinic was immediately closed due to the lack of a medical license and the absence of a professional manager with technical qualifications.

Aline Ferreira is survived by her husband, whom she married in 2021, and two children.
