I wanted to bring out the flag of Ukraine: Murik from Green Grey on his plans to go to Russia

Green Grey's Murik talks about his plans to travel to Russia

The vocalist of the famous Ukrainian rock band Green Grey, Dmytro Muravytskyi, better known as Murik, recalled how the band was supposed to go to Russia in 2021 to perform at the Wild Mint festival. At the time, this decision outraged many Ukrainian fans. However, the rockers never made it to the festival because of COVID-19.

Almost three years have passed, a full-scale war has broken out in Ukraine, and, of course, Green Grey has no plans to give concerts in Russia. However, Murik sees nothing wrong with the fact that the band wanted to perform in Russia in 2021. The singer shared his thoughts on this in an interview with Slava Demin for his YouTube channel of the same name.

According to Muravytskyi, he planned to appear on the Russian stage with the flag of Ukraine in his hands and would have done so if the festival had not been canceled due to the pandemic. The musician defended Wild Mint, saying that it was an independent and "politically unbiased" event.

"I wanted to go on stage with the Ukrainian flag... The organizer, by the way, is a nice guy. I think he's left Russia. They organized a separate Ukrainian day... Nervy and Dorn were still supposed to perform," Murik commented.

He also admitted that over the course of his more than thirty-year career, he has been repeatedly offered to move to the Russian music market. In particular, he said, he was contacted by producer Iosif Prigozhin.

"I could have been in Dima Bilan's shoes. I was a blond guy. I received some such offers. But no, no, no, I have a band, I have rock," the artist said.
