Do you remember the resonant image of Diana, Princess of Wales? A short black dress with a plunging neckline and bare shoulders by Christina Stambolian (known as the "revenge dress"), pumps and a luxurious pearl and blue diamond choker. This is how she attended the 1994 charity event. The same day she found out about her husband, Prince Charles (now the King of Great Britain), cheating on her. It wasn't just her outfit that demonstrated Lady Dee's confidence. The princess held her head and back straight. Her behavior showed that she had self-respect, unlike the way she behaved next to her husband (often modestly lowering her head and hunching over).

1. Caring for her brother

Diana Frances Spencer was born on July 1, 1961 in Sandringham, England. She is an aristocrat from the Spencer-Churchill royal family; the fourth of five children of Earl John Spencer, Viscount Elthorp, and Frances Ruth Roche. On July 1, 1967, the future princess was photographed with her brother Charles Edward Morris on her birthday. In the photo, the girl is standing behind a swing, with her eyes modestly down. There is an important detail here: she is standing on her tiptoes to keep her hands on her relative's shoulders. This is a subconscious message that she is always ready to protect her brother.

2. Hidden competition

In the summer of 1980, Prince Charles was actively looking for a wife. The reason was that the royal family did not approve of his choice - Camilla Rosemary Shand (as you already know, in 2005 the two did get married, and now His Majesty's chosen one holds the title of Queen of Great Britain). So, to please his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Charles started an affair with Diana Spencer, 13 years younger than him, who immediately aroused the paparazzi's endless admiration...

Take a look at a photo taken in 1980 at the Ludlow horse race, where the prince participated. It shows Diana, Charles's fiancée, walking with her rival Camilla. The former shoved her hands deep into her pockets and hunched over. This was a defensive reaction to Camilla's "aggressive" stance, who raised her elbow and pointed it at Diana like a weapon.

3. A romantic honeymoon?

Shortly after their wedding on July 31, 1981, the Prince and Princess of Wales set sail on the royal yacht Britannia for their honeymoon. The official honeymoon photo shows the newly-minted husband and wife looking at each other with interested glances. Probably with the hope of a happy future for their marriage. Diana flirtatiously raised her shoulders, tilted her head and smiled sincerely. While Charles demonstrated his affection for his beloved by turning his body in her direction. Unfortunately, this light in their eyes faded relatively quickly... Why: Many years later it turned out that even then Charles kept a photo of his mistress Camilla in his private diary. In addition, according to Penny Thornton, the princess's astrologer, the prince told Diana on the eve of the wedding that he did not love her.

4. A revealing smile

In the photo, taken in 1985 in Highclere, Berkshire, Princess Diana was walking with her bodyguard Barry Mannaki. Look at Lady Dee: she is smiling sincerely and broadly, turning her head slightly back (to continue looking at Barry) and holding one hand with the other (trying to keep her emotions in check so as not to reach out to him). This body language indicates that Diana was truly happy with this man (and even adored him!). When it turned out in 1986 that the two were having a secret affair, the guard was fired. Eight months later, he died in a car accident: a truck crashed into the motorcycle he was riding - its driver was allegedly blinded by the headlights of a third car (which was never found).

Many years have passed. In an interview, the princess admitted how she felt about Barry: "Next to him, I felt like a little girl... 5. Not everything is as bad as it seems

On December 9, 1992, British Prime Minister John Major announced that Charles and Diana's marriage was over. And this did not seem to be a disappointment for the princess. After the divorce, she was "reborn": she appeared at public events and in random paparazzi photos with a charismatic smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. Her behavior hinted that "it's finally over." One of the most striking examples of sign language is a photo taken on April 13, 1993. It shows Diana with her sons, William and Harry, having fun in a water park. She is smiling sincerely and carefree, like a child.
