Spanish actress, Oscar winner, known primarily for the films of Pedro Almodóvar.
The actress came to fame in 1997, after shooting in the films "Living Flesh" and "Open Your Eyes". In 1999, the Cannes Film Festival opened with Pedro Almodovar's film with her participation "All About My Mother", after which Cruz begins to shoot with famous actors such as Matt Damon ("Indomitable Hearts"), Johnny Depp ("Cocaine"), Nicolas Cage ("Captain Corelli's Choice"), Salma Hayek ("Bandidas"), Tom Cruise ("Vanilla Sky") and others.
For a while she dated Tom Cruise, now married to Spanish actor Javier Bardem.
