Lenny Kravitz was born in New York City on May 26, 1964. Lenny Kravitz's parents were film actress Roxy Rokeri television director and producer Seymour Kravitz. Lenny Kravitz's grandfather was born in the Ukraine, and his great-grandfather was born in Kiev.

Kravitz became seriously interested in music in 1974, when he and his family moved from New York to Los Angeles. He began to learn the wisdom of playing all kinds of instruments - from keyboards to drums, and sang in the California Children's Chorus.

When Lenny Kravitz turned sixteen, he left home and started his own life. Then he recorded his first few demos and, under the pseudonym Romeo Blue, sent them to all sorts of recording studios.

Finally his persistence gave results - I.R.S. Records was interested in the young talent. However, the cooperation with them was very short-lived, and Kravitz returned to the search. Only in 1989, Lenny Kravitz started working with the Virgin Records label (their collaboration lasted for almost twenty years).

In the same year, Kravitz released his first album, which he called "Let Love Rule", which began the rapid growth of his popularity. Later, the final breakthrough to the top of popularity and celebrity for Kravitz was Madonna. It was Lenny Kravitz who co-wrote the legendary song "Justify My Love."

Later, Lenny Kravitz worked with rock legend Mick Jagger and wrote songs for the cult band Aerosmith, while continuing to work on his own albums.

In 2003, Kravitz established his own recording studio called Roxie Roker.
