Born August 16, 1954, Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada.
Canadian film director, screenwriter, producer. One of the most successful directors of the planet: 9 films have collected more than 5.5 billion dollars at the box office.
He made two of the highest-grossing feature films in cinematic history: "Titanic" (1997), which won 11 Oscars (including best producer, director and editor) and "Avatar" (2010), which won 3 Oscars (best special effects, best artwork, best cinematography).
He is the creator of the Terminator character and director of the first two films in the series.
In addition to cinematography, he takes an active part in environmental projects.
