Dmitry Naz arov is a Russian theater and film actor. People's Artist of Russia (2000).
Brief biography
Dmitry Nazarov was born on July 4, 1957 in Ruza (Moscow region, Russian Federation).
He graduated from the Shchepkin Higher Theater School. Subsequently worked in various theaters.
In 1993 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of Russia.
In 2000 he received the honorary title of People's Artist of Russia.
In 2012-2014 was the performer of the main role of chef Viktor Barinov in the Russian comedy television series "Kitchen".
He opposed the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine and criticized the actions of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. For this, in January 2023, he was fired from the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater along with his wife Olga Vasilieva.
At the same time, he opposed raising funds to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces, arguing that "people should not kill each other."
In April 2023, Nazarov was fined 50,000 rubles for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. The reason for this decision was a video on the actor's YouTube channel, where he read out the poem "Do Russians Want War".
Nazarov left Russia and lives in Israel.
