Caroline Leavitt
Caroline Claire Leavitt(also meets Leavitt) is the White House Press Secretary (from 2025).
Brief bioCaroline Leavitt was born on August 24, 1997.
While still in college, Leavitt was outspoken about her support for Donald Trump during his first term as president. Her op-eds in the school newspaper included defending Trump's stance on the Muslim travel ban, which was in effect in the U.S. for several months until it was repealed, and Livitt also criticized media outlets that did not like the president.
During college, she interned at Fox News as well as the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and political science in 2019.
After her studies, Livitt briefly served as an assistant press secretary in the White House press office, and after President Trump's term ended, she was promoted to communications director for U.S. House of Representatives member Elise Stefanik.
In 2022, Livitt announced she would run for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire's 1st District. During the campaign, as the media noted, she featured a brash style reminiscent of Trump's and gained right-wing supporters. Eventually, Livitt won the Republican primary and even received congratulations from Trump, but she lost the House election to the Democratic nominee.
In 2023, she became a spokeswoman for the pro-Trump MAGA Inc.
That same year, Livitt published a series of articles on conservative news sites that later revealed many talking points similar to those circulated by supporters of exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui, who was convicted in the U.S. in July 2024 for $1 billion in fraud.
Following criticism about the articles, Livitt said she did not receive any money from Wengui, nor did she receive any guidance on what her articles should be. However, the published articles eventually disappeared from the websites for violating submission guidelines.
In 2024, Livitt announced that she did not intend to run again.
Trump's press secretaryIn January 2024, Livitt accepted the role of national press secretary for Donald Trump's presidential campaign. In an appearance on CNN This Morning, she was removed from the air for arguing over debate moderators.
In July 2024, Livitt took a brief vacation during the birth of her son, but returned to work after an attempt on Trump's life.
On November 15, 2024, Donald Trump selected Livitt as his White House press secretary. She became the youngest press secretary in the history of the United States.
