This was revealed by Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Malyar during a briefing. At the same time, the occupiers are also trying to conduct offensive actions.
"As of today, the AFU and all defense forces are both offensive and defensive. That is, we are carrying out offensives in several directions and defenses. Because the enemy is also carrying out offensive actions," reports Malyar.
As stated by the deputy minister, in the direction of Bakhmut the enemy is relocating additional military reserves and is actively trying to stop the advance of the Ukrainian defense forces. Thus, the Ukrainian forces recorded the movement of an enemy airborne assault unit there.
"And, in fact, the enemy continues to concentrate huge efforts there: both personnel and military equipment in order to prevent the advance of the AFU," she said.
Malyar also noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not allow the plans of the occupiers to materialize, effectively deter enemy assaults and respond to attacks with their counterattacks.
"As for the southern direction, there is an offensive in several directions, there is also a gradual but steady advance of the AFU," Malyar reported.
At the same time, the occupation troops continue active resistance, and Ukrainian forces face constant minefields, kamikaze drone attacks and intensive shelling.
Also, the speaker of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Taurian direction Valery Shershen reported that near the town of Vuhledar Ukrainian troops advanced towards the enemy up to one kilometer.
The occupants intensively shelled this settlement. They also shelled Vodyane, Kurakhove, Maksymivka, Yelizavetivka, Prechystivka, Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vilne Pole. In addition to shelling, the occupants also conducted an air strike near Zolota Niva.
The Ukrainian soldiers of the Tavria Defense Force are confidently defending themselves and continue to destroy the enemy.
