"We won't go anywhere on our own": Russian sports accused the world of hostility and complained about the "time of difficulties"

Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin hypocritically called the aggressor country one of the friendliest and most open in the world. The henchman of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime, who wants to destroy Ukraine and denies its existence, also accused international organizations of trying to isolate Russia.

Matitsyn said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS. The head of Russian sports complained about sanctions against the aggressor country and added that Russia "does not divide countries into friendly and unfriendly," forgetting about the relevant law passed by the government.

"Russian sports is currently in a difficult situation, under sanctions. But our president says that the time of difficulties is the time of opportunities. We need to create conditions for athletes through the Spartakiad, Russian championships, and open competitions. The BRICS Games, the Games of the Future, are a symbol that the Russian Federation is not closing down and we are not trying to avoid international sports. We are not going anywhere and we are not going to do it ourselves. We will invite everyone, we do not divide countries into friendly and unfriendly ones. Everything Russia does is an example of openness and a call for unity," Matytsin said.

Earlier, he complained that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was violating the right of Russians to support dictator Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine by applying conditions for admission to tournaments.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov said that many countries allegedly do not recognize the results of the 2024 Olympics because there will be practically no athletes from Russia in Paris, and became a laughingstock on the Internet.
