"Let them put their stupid decisions in one place!" Russian Olympic champion furious over Russia's punishment

Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov threw a fit after the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided to impose sanctions on Russia. The two-time Stanley Cup winner was outraged that the IIHF had suspended goaltender Ivan Fedotov for four months for breaching his contractual obligations to the American club Philadelphia Flyers.
Fetisov said this in a furious comment to Sport-Express. The former hockey player called on Fedotov himself and CSKA Moscow, which was banned from engaging in transfer activities for a year for signing the player, to "tell the IIHF to go away" and not to comply with its decisions.
"We need to send the International Ice Hockey Federation away! Let them shove this decision in one place! Stupid decisions! What do we have to do with them? We are suspended from all competitions. Who are they to us anyway?" - said an angry Fetisov.
It should be noted that Fedotov signed a contract with Philadelphia in May 2022. The following month, the hockey player was detained and forcibly conscripted into the Russian army. It is believed that the athlete was specially sent to the Russian Armed Forces to prevent him from joining an NHL club. The athlete signed a contract with the North Americans, but CSKA entered into a parallel agreement with Ivan.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Roman Rotenberg, vice president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), expressed confidence that "everything would collapse" in world sport without the aggressor country.
