How to wash kitchen towels to the state of new: effective means

Kitchen towels get stained faster than any other home textile. This is not surprising, given the scope of their use. Kitchen dirt, grease, and food traces constantly appear on these items and they quickly lose their presentable appearance.

Fortunately, such towels can be resuscitated if you properly treat the stains on them and then wash them accordingly. OBOZ.UA learned about several life hacks.

First of all, do not forget to soak kitchen towels. Even just an hour in a warm detergent solution will make their subsequent washing much more efficient. It is better to wash these items with white clothes. Then you can set a higher water temperature, which will also affect the quality of cleaning. Here are some life hacks on how to remove stains from kitchen towels.

Dishwashing liquid against grease

This liquid is designed to break down fat and food debris. It should also work with a towel. If the stain is fresh, put a drop of the product on your fingers, gently rub the stained area with them, rinse the towel and wash it as usual. You can also use the liquid for soaking. But don't forget to rinse the items afterwards, too - the remaining dishwashing liquid will produce too much foam in the washing machine.

Hydrogen peroxide for bleaching

Pharmacy hydrogen peroxide has the ability to discolor stains. Therefore, it works well with light towels. With colored towels, it can wash out the dye. To prepare the soak, pour 5 liters of warm water into a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of peroxide and 1 tablespoon of ammonia. The towels should be kept in this solution for 1 to 6 hours. After that, they are washed as usual.

Laundry soap for an impressive effect

This classic product can remove stains, whiten white, and restore brightness to colored clothes at the same time. To use the power of laundry soap, wet a towel and rub it well with a bar so that a lot of foam is released. Be especially careful with stains. Next, put the soaped towels in a bag, close it well, and leave the bag for 10-12 hours for the soap to work properly. After that, rinse and wash the towels as usual.

Citric acid for color stains

In addition to degreasing, citric acid is good for removing colored stains from fabrics, such as traces of wine or beet juice. You can use it after washing on those stains that have not disappeared. Pour a small amount of acid on a damp towel so that it completely covers the stain and leave it for an hour. Then the product is shaken, and the towel is rinsed in cool water.
