Favorable conditions will ensure bright flowering of hydrangea

Hydrangea is a popular garden flower because it does not require complicated care and at the same time blooms very lushly and for a long time. But some gardeners complain that their inflorescences do not grow too bright.

Gardening experts say that a few simple life hacks will help. OBOZ.UA has put these tips together.

Give the bushes shade

Although hydrangea tolerates direct sunlight, it still prefers partially shaded areas. In this case, its flowers do not burn or fade. Plant the plant so that it is shaded at least part of the day and you will see the difference.

Take care of adequate watering

An ornamental shrub will not be able to produce bright colors if it suffers from drought, so make sure that the soil under it is always moist. During dry periods, water hydrangeas separately. And don't plant them near large trees, as the plants will compete with each other for moisture and the tree's powerful root system will win the fight.

Provide nutritious soil and mulch

Hydrangeas do not grow well and do not bloom well in poor soils such as sandy soil. Therefore, make sure that the soil near the bush is enriched with peat and organic fertilizers. Also, cover it with light mulch, which will help to retain more water and nutrients and protect the roots of the plant from the scorching sun.
