Strudel is one of the most delicious homemade pastries for tea. They can be made with different dough, even pita bread. As for the fillings, the dish is most often prepared with apple filling, as well as berries, cottage cheese, and cream.
Culinary expert Mykola Liulko shared a recipe on Instagram for a delicious homemade strudel with apples and cinnamon that takes only 40 minutes to make.
Ingredients:
- Puff pastry – 500 g
- Apples – 2 kg
- Raisins – 200 g
- Walnuts – 200 g
- Sugar – 200 g
- Butter – 100 g
- Cinnamon – 1 tsp
- Vanilla sugar – 20 g
- Chicken egg – 2 pcs.
- Flour – 50 g
- Ice cream – 100 g
Method of preparation:
1. Dice the apples, put them in a saucepan with sugar and butter, and cook until the apples are soft.
2. Chop the nuts.
3. Pour the raisins into hot water and let stand for about 10-15 minutes, then pour them into the apples and mix.
4. Add cinnamon, sugar, nuts and mix well.
5. Roll out the dough, put the filling, roll it up, and gently pinch the edges.
6. Put the strudel on a baking sheet, make cuts, brush with egg yolk, and put in the oven for 40 minutes at 180 C.
Serve the strudel hot with ice cream.
