There will be no continuation of the series "To Catch Kaidash": Baklanov put an end to it and gave the reason

Ukrainian theater and film actor Hryhoriy Baklanov said that there will be no continuation of the series "To Catch Kaidash" and explained the reason for this decision. The actor played Lavrin in the modern adaptation of Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky's The Kaidash Family.

The first season of the series, which consists of 12 episodes, ends with Baklanov's character volunteering for the war. Despite the expectations of fans, the scriptwriter and producer of The Kaidashy, Natalka Vorozhbyt, has repeatedly stated that there will be no sequel. In an interview with TyKyiv, the actor once again confirmed her words.

Catching Kaidash was first released in 2020 and instantly won the hearts of Ukrainians. The familiar characters of The Kaidash Family moved back to the early 2000s, reflecting the everyday life of a Ukrainian family in those years.

Even though episode 12 ended with an open finale, fans persistently asked for a second season. However, Hryhoriy Baklanov believes that there is no need to make a sequel - we should leave the story as it is. According to the actor, the sequel could have been made immediately after the first season, but now it makes no sense.

"This shelf is already quite full with its 12 episodes, and there is no need to try to fill it further. Today, our country has completely different heroes," he explained.
