Russian group B-2 refused support from compatriots: they chose prison in Thailand instead of returning to Russia and ignored the consul

Since 2022, the Russian rock band B-2 has not performed in the aggressor country, sharply criticizing the war, helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and ignoring all former Putinist fans, for which the band members had to pay the price. Now the band is in a difficult situation due to their detention in Thailand and imprisonment but they have not abandoned their principles.

A helping hand was unexpectedly extended to them from Russia when the consul of the terrorist country came to law enforcement, apparently to discuss the terms of deportation, but the musicians refused to meet with him. Their representative wrote about this on Telegram.

The musicians were detained on January 24 after a concert in Phuket. The reason for the detention was incorrectly executed documents by the organizers. The band members spent the first night in a police station cell.

The next day, the court fined the musicians, and after that they were detained by the Thai migration police. For several days now, according to Mikhail Kozyrev, the host of the TV Rain channel, the stars have been held in inhumane conditions in an open-air cell under the scorching sun.

The day before, the Israeli consulate intervened in the situation and agreed to deport the detainees. Tickets had already been purchased for them, but the decision was suddenly canceled.

Sources close to B-2 believe that the situation is completely controlled by the Russian authorities, who are using local law enforcement to put pressure on the artists, trying to win them over. So far, the Russians have not succeeded.

"Today, after a visit by high-ranking diplomats from the Russian consulate, the band's representatives were told that the decision to deport them to Israel had been canceled. The band members refused to talk to the Russian consul... They continue to be held in the migration center in a shared cell for 80 people," the post reads.

Mikhail Kozyrev claimed that the detention of B-2 was orchestrated by the Kremlin. The situation "is directly controlled by the Russian authorities, it is a demonstrative reprisal against the musicians," he assured. Obviously, they are trying to lure the stars to the side of the Russian Federation, using methods typical for Russia, which are terror and psychological pressure.
