Vsevolod Knyazev

Vsevolod Sergeyevich Knyazev is a Ukrainian lawyer, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine (since December 1, 2021).

Short biography

Vsevolod Knyazev was born on May 25, 1979, in the city of Nikolaev.

He graduated from the Institute of Humanities of the Ukrainian Maritime Technical University and the Odessa National Law Academy. Doctor of Law, Professor.

In 2013 he became a judge of the Mykolaiv District Administrative Court, and two years later he headed this court.

Knyazev is also a judge of the Cassation Administrative Court of the Supreme Court.

In October 2021, the plenum of the Supreme Court held a secret ballot, appointing Knyazev as the court's new chief justice.

Suspicion of corruption

In May 2023, Knyazev was detained by officers of the SAP and NABU. He is accused of taking a bribe of $2.7 million for a decision in favor of oligarch Konstantin Zhevago.

Family

Knyazev is married. His wife, Yulia Knyazeva, is a private notary. The couple is raising a daughter Victoria and a son Vladimir.
