Brief biography

Vadim Pristayko was born in Kiliya, Odessa Region, on February 20, 1970.

Prystayko received his higher education at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Academy of Foreign Trade, from which he graduated with a master's degree.

Prystayko started his career in government in 1994, taking the post in the Ministry of Trade of Ukraine, where he headed one of the departments of Trade and Economic Relations with Africa, Asia and Pacific region, and later the post of Deputy Chief.

In 1997 Vadym Prystaiko joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, where he worked as a Deputy Head of the Asia-Pacific Countries Department until the year 2000.

In 2000, Vadym Prystaiko served for a year as Ukraine's Consul in Australia.

From 2002 till 2006 Vadym Prystayko held the position of Political Advisor and Charge d'Affaires ad interim of Ukraine in Canada.

From 2007 to 2009 Vadym Prystaiko was Deputy Director of the North Atlantic Alliance Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

From 2009 to 2012, Vadym Prystaiko worked as an advisor at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States of America.

From 2012 to 2014, Vadym Prystayko simultaneously served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Poland, as well as represented Ukraine at the International Civil Aviation Organization.

After the Revolution of Dignity, starting from December 2014, Vadym Prystayko was appointed Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister.

On May 22, 2019 Volodymyr Zelensky by his decree appointed Vadym Prystayko to a new position: deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Since August 29, 2019 Prystayko became Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and since March 4, 2020 - Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation at its first meeting approved Vadym Pristayko as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

On March 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of Vadym Prystayko for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European Integration.

Personal life

The official is married. The wife of Vadim Pristayko is Inna. The couple has two children.
