Tim Walz
American politician, vice presidential candidate
Timothy James Walz is an American politician, former non-commissioned officer in the United States Army, and retired educator. As of 2019, he is serving as the 41st Governor of Minnesota. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the vice presidential nominee of presidential candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Walz, 60, has become known as an effective defender of Harris. He called Republican nominee Donald Trump and his vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance "cranks," a viral insult that Harris' campaign picked up on.
As governor, the politician championed progressive policies such as free school meals and expanded paid leave for workers.
