Oleg Anatolievich Ts arev is a former Ukrainian businessman and pro-Russian politician, collaborator, and traitor to Ukraine.
Brief biography
Oleg Tsarev was born on June 2, 1970 in Dnipro.
At one time he was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of IV-VII convocations, a member of the faction and political council of the Party of Regions.
In 2014, after Viktor Yanukovych fled Ukraine, he was a candidate for President of Ukraine in the May 25, 2014 snap election. He eventually withdrew his candidacy.
Repeatedly, he has been seen as openly Ukrainophobic and promoting separatist sentiments.
In June 2014, the VR agreed to Tsarev's criminal prosecution, detention, arrest and detention, but he was subsequently released.
That same month, Tsarev was elected "speaker of the parliament" of so-called Novorossiya, an association of the Russian-controlled "DNR" and "LNR."
Together with former officials-traitors of Ukraine during the Yanukovych presidency, he was involved in the creation of the "Committee for the Salvation of Ukraine".
Since March 2022, after the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Tsarev has been suspected of collaborating with Russia and Russian occupiers.
As of 2023, he is hiding from Ukrainian justice in the Russian Federation. An investigation is open against him on charges of high treason due to collaboration with Russia.
