Michael Brodsky is an Israeli diplomat, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine.

Short biography

Michael Brodsky was born in 1972 in Leningrad, Russia (now St. Petersburg).

Repatriated to Israel with his parents in 1990 after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

He received his higher education in Tel Aviv University. He has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in diplomacy and national security.

After serving in the army, he took a job as press-attaché for the Yisrael Be-Aliya parliamentary faction. In this position he worked from 1996 to 1999.

In 2002 he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.

From 2003 to 2008 he worked at the Embassy of Israel in Moscow, holding the position of Press Attaché to the Embassy, and later served as Political Attaché.

From 2008-2013 he worked as Director of Public Affairs at the Israeli Embassy in London.

In 2015, he was appointed Israeli ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan and non-resident ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.

In November 2020, Brodsky was appointed Israel's ambassador to Ukraine. In August 2021, he arrived in Kiev.

Brodsky speaks Hebrew, English, German, and also Russian.

Family

Michael Brodsky is married to Regina Shafir. The couple has three children.
