Illarion Stanislavovich Pav lyuk is a writer, documentary filmmaker, head of the Press and Information Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, an officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Brief biography
Illarion Pavlyuk was born on May 14, 1980 in Skadovsk, Kherson region.
At the age of seven he moved with his parents to Sakhalin (Russian Federation), where he lived for 10 years.
After returning to Ukraine, he lived in Lugansk, where he graduated from Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University in 2001.
In the same year, he moved to Kyiv, where he began working as a journalist. He specialized in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Subsequently, he started working at the channel "1+1", becoming a producer of the department of documentary-artistic projects. Together with his team he left the channel in 2011.
He was a member of the jury of the 63rd American Emmy Awards.
In 2015, he took part in the Russian-Ukrainian war as a member of the volunteer battalion "Harpoon". After the start of the full-scale invasion, he mobilized to one of the units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense.
Since 2023 he has been serving in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
He is a co-owner of Ivory Films production company.
Author of such documentaries as "Code of the Nation", "Ordinary Zombies. How Lies Work", "Zombies 2. Brainwashing," "Azure Dust," and others.
He is also the author of three novels published by Old Lion Publishing. His debut novel, White Ashes, was released in 2018.
