German Smetanin

German Smetanin is the general director of Ukroboronprom.

Brief biography

German Smetanin was born in 1993 in Kharkiv.

He graduated from the local secondary school №49.

Subsequently, he studied at the Kharkiv National Automobile and Road University, where he earned a profession of a design engineer of wheeled and tracked vehicles.

Subsequently, he studied at the National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Sikorsky", where he majored in management. Sikorsky", specializing as a manager of management of the defense-industrial corps.

In 2014-2015, he worked at the Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau.

He was chief designer and chief engineer at Lviv Armored Plant.

Subsequently, he became director of production at the Malyshev Plant.

In 2021, he became Director of the Kharkiv Armored Plant.

Already in April 2023, Smetanin was appointed Director General of SE "Malyshev Plant" by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

June 28, 2023 Smetanin was appointed Director General of "Ukroboronprom".
