Gennady Bog olyubov is a Ukrainian billionaire, one of the founders ofPrivat Group.

Brief biography

Gennady Bogolyubov was born in the Dnepropetrovsk region, in the city of Kamenskoye, on January 20, 1962.

He received his higher education at the Dnepropetrovsk Construction Engineering Institute.

Gennady Bogolyubov came into business in the eighties, being one of the founders of the cooperative "Sentosa", which was engaged in the resale of office equipment.

In 1992, Gennady Bogolyubov acted as one of the founders of the closed joint-stock companyPrivatbank. Subsequently, on the basis of the bank, the financial and industrial group "Privat" was created.

In 1999, Gennady Bogolyubov headed the Jewish community of Dnipro.

As of 2017, Gennady Bogolyubov was the second person in the list of the richest people in Ukraine, and in the world ranking took 1468th position. At the same time, Bogolyubov has been keeping in the top 100 rich Ukrainians according to Forbes magazine for many years.

Hennadiy Bogolyubov owns a number of different companies, firms and enterprises - not only in Ukraine, but also in neighboring countries and the European Union - such as Eclairs Group, Feral CA, Highlanders Alloys, Ferrexpo, Ukrainian charter Windrose Airlines. In addition, he is the owner of a number of media resources: "Autoradio", "Europe plus", "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine".

Nevertheless, in 2016,Privatbank, co-owned by Gennady Bogolyubov, received the official status of an insolvent bank, after which it was nationalized.

A year later,Privatbank filed a lawsuit in the High Court of London against Gennady Bogolyubov and Igor Kolomoisky, as well as a number of companies.

In 2017, the High court of London ordered the arrest of assets of former shareholders of "Privatbank" around the world. Gennady Bogolyubov as well as Igor Kolomoisky were obliged to disclose information about all assets to a limited number of persons directly involved in the case.

In 2018th year, the Russian Federation imposed personal sanctions against Gennady Bogolyubov.

Personal life

Gennady Bogolyubov was married, but divorced about ten years ago. The businessman has a son and a daughter, as well as a grandson. In addition, Bogolyubov is the godfather (sandak) of Igor Kolomoisky's son.
