Ekaterina Kukhar

Kateryna Igorevna Kukhar is a Ukrainian prima ballerina, participant of "Dancing with the Stars".

Brief biography

Ekaterina Kukhar was born in Kiev, January 18, 1982.

Seriously engaged in dancing Ekaterina Kukhar began at the age of five.

Kukhar received her higher education at the Kiev Choreographic School, which she graduated with an externship and with honors in 1999.

Ekaterina Kukhar made her debut on the big stage while still studying at the school. Kukhar's first serious performance took place on the Japanese stage Bunka Kaikan, where she played in the ballet "TheNutcracker".

In 1999, after graduating from the choreographic school, Kukhar was invited to dance at the National Opera of Ukraine. Together with the troupe, Kukhar has toured to a huge number of different countries - from the United States to South Korea, playing leading roles in almost every performance.

In 2012, Kateryna Kukhar received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine (and in 2018 - and people's).

In 2014, Kateryna Kukhar was honored to perform at the French Palais des Congrès, which is located in Paris.

In 2016, Ekaterina Kukhar was awarded the Order of Princess Olga III degree.

In 2017th year, Catherine Kukhar appeared on the air of the TV channel "1+1". She acted as one of the jury members of the first season of the TV show "Dancing with Zirky", and later continued to occupy the judging chair and in the next season.

Personal life

Kateryna Kukhar is married. Her husband is Alexander Stoyanov, the most famous Ukrainian ballet dancer. Initially, Kukhar and Stoyanov did not intend to marry and many years just lived together. However, in the end - still played a wedding.

Now the couple is raising two children - son Timur and daughter Nastya. His first child Ekaterina Kukhar tragically lost.
