Appointment to the TAG and the Office of the President

He was also appointed official speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the TAG. Subsequently, he resigned from his post at his own request.

In December 2020, Arestovich was appointed freelance adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak on strategic communications in the field of national security and defense.

Scandals

In December 2017, Arestovich admitted on Facebook that he had publicly "lied since the spring of 2014." According to him, he only pretended to be a Ukrainian patriot and had little interest in the national issue and self-determination. He explained his behavior by the fact that it was relevant in the context of Russian aggression.

"I am not a patriot. And not only of Ukraine, but of any nation-state as such. I am a patriot of the "5 project", the project of a united Earth in the spirit of Teilhard de Chardin and Vernadsky," Arestovich wrote.

He also stated that he "looks "like a soldier at a louse" in the restoration of historical memory, justice, struggles, victories and defeats, the formation of nations, language/languages, and the closure of historical wounds."

At the time, Arestowicz also stated that he was returning to a language "that I am comfortable speaking."

In December 2020, Arestovich said that the media close to Viktor Medvedchuk "are not our enemies, they are representatives of the Ukrainian media working according to the law".

On December 18, 2020, Arestovich wrote on Facebook that a Ukrainian military officer "while intoxicated, made an unauthorized transfer to the enemy's side (without weapons), and died of alcohol or drug intoxication". In fact, a forensic examination of the dead fighter's body showed that he had been killed in captivity. Arestovich later apologized for the untrue information.

In March 2021, Arestovich responded on Facebook in matte to a request to report on the work of the TAG in Ukrainian. This caused a scandal and there were calls for his dismissal from the TCG.

Articles and materials

In his publications, Arestovich dealt with various events on the front, in Donbas. He explained in detail the nuances of clashes and battles between the AFU and terrorists of "L/DNR". Analyzed the movements of Russian troops and terrorist groups. He pointed out the blunders of the Russian army command and Russian special services - both in the war in Donbass and in the operations of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria and the GRU in Great Britain (the Skripal case). He reported on the successes of the Ukrainian army, but rightly criticized the mistakes made by the AFU soldiers.

Back in 2008, together with Dmytro Korchinsky, he predicted the attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. Arestovich's forecast came true in 2014 with frightening accuracy.
