Abdul Matin ibni Sultan Haji Hassanal Bol kiah is a prince of Brunei. The tenth child and fourth son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei.

Brief biography

Prince Abdul Matin was born on August 10, 1991 in Brunei.

In July 2014, the prince received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics from King's College London.

In July 2016, he also received a Master of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

From 2010, he attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Upon graduation, he was attached to the Life Guards of the Blues and Royals Cavalry Horse Regiment.

Subsequently, he also attended the No. 200 Initial Flying Training Course at RAF Cranwell, and qualified as a helicopter pilot at the Ministry of Defense Helicopter Flying School. He also trained at the Center for Aviation Physiology and attended the 61st Military Basic Freefall Course in Singapore.

In May 2021, Prince Mateen was promoted to the rank of major. Later that year, he attended the 11-week Commando Course (AACC) at the Royal Marines Commando Training Center in the United Kingdom, where he received his Green Beret.

Prince Mateen represented his country in polo at the Southeast Asian Games in 2017 and 2019.

The Prince resides at a residence in Jerudong. His hobbies include soccer, horse riding, boxing, skiing, tennis, drums and guitar.

Wedding

Prince Mateen and Anisha Rosna binti Adam announced their royal wedding on the orders of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The ceremony started on January 7, 2024 and lasted for 10 days.
