Victoria Spartz
Victoria Spartz (also Spartz) is a Ukrainian-born American politician, Indiana State Senator and Congresswoman-elect.
Brief biography
Victoria Spartz was born on October 1, 1978 in the town of Nosovka, Chernihiv region.
She graduated from the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University.
She moved to the USA in 2000. There she continued her studies and received a master's degree in professional accounting from Indiana University. Subsequently, she started working as a lecturer at the same university.
In 2006, she obtained US citizenship.
Subsequently, she worked in business, as well as in U.S. government agencies. In particular, she held the position of chief finance officer of the Indiana Prosecutor's Office.
In September 2017, she stepped down from her position due to her election to the Indiana Senate.
2020 Congressional Election
In November 2020, Spartz won election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana's Fifth District.
In January 2020, Spartz will begin serving as a member of the House of Representatives and will become the first ethnic Ukrainian in the U.S. Congress.
