Rostyslav Igorevich Shurma is a Ukrainian politician, economist, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Brief biography

Rostyslav Shurma was born on September 17, 1983 in Lviv. His father was once a people's deputy from the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine and the Opposition Bloc.

In 2004, he graduated from the University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with a degree in Economics and Entrepreneurship.

In 2005, he received a master's degree in economic theory from the Hetman Kyiv Economic University. Hetman.

In 2003-2005, Mr. Shurma worked as a financial manager at Procter and Gamble Eastern Europe in Moscow.

Subsequently, he was a consultant at BCG, and since 2006 he started working at Metinvest Group.

He headed the Strategy Department, worked as CFO of Makeyevka Metallurgical Plant and Deputy Director of Metinvest's metallurgical division.

In the Verkhovna Rada of the IV convocation he was a volunteer assistant-consultant to his father - MP Igor Shurma.

He was a member of the Supervisory Board of Mariupol Metallurgical Plant, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Promet Plant in Bulgaria and a member of the Board of Directors of Metinvest-Trametal in Italy.

In 2010 he was elected as a deputy of the Donetsk Regional Council of the VI convocation from the Party of Regions. He was number 76 on the list as a party member.

In 2012-2019, he was the CEO of PJSC Zaporizhstal.

In April 2015, he was elected head of the Zaporizhzhya organization of the Opposition Bloc party.

In 2019, he was a candidate for people's deputies from the "Opposition Bloc" in the parliamentary elections.

In February 2020, he left the post of head of the regional branch of the "Opposition Bloc".

In May 2021, by decree of the President of Ukraine, he was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of the State Corporation Ukroboronprom.

In November of the same year, he became Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Since January 2023, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz.

Family

Shurma is married. Together with his wife Yulia, he raises a son Dmitry and daughters Anastasia and Alina.
