Short Biography

Murat Gassiev was born in Vladikavkaz, Russian Federation, on October 12, 1993.

He was engaged in various sports sections - soccer, freestyle wrestling and judo. But since the age of fourteen I decided to devote myself completely to boxing.

In 2011 he debuted on the professional arena, on the Manege of Vladikavkaz, winning his opponent, Roman Mirzoev, on points.

From 2016 to 2018, Murat Gassiev held the IBF title and championship belt. In 2018, he was the WBA champion.

In total, during his professional career Murat Gassiev held twenty-eight fights. In twenty-six of them the athlete won and only one fight ended in defeat.

• Murat Gassiev against Alexander Usik: the fight for the title of absolute world champion took place in 2018 in the Russian Federation, in Moscow. At the end of twelve rounds, the judges recognized the defeat of Murat Gassiev, which was the first in his professional career.
