KonstantinValentynovich Zhevago is a Ukrainian billionaire and former People's Deputy of Ukraine.

Brief biography of Konstantin Zhevago

Konstantin Zhevago was born in Chukotka, in the village of Egvekinot, on January 7, 1974.

As a child, he moved with his family to Ukraine, to Zaporozhye.

Konstantin Zhevago received his higher education at the Kiev National University of Economics named after Vadym Hetman.

Mr. Zhevago started his financial career as a student in 1993 as the Financial Director of the Finance and Credit Company.

Since 1996, Konstantin Zhevago has headed the board of Finance and Credit, at the same time serving as deputy head of the Poltava Mining and Processing Plant and sitting on the supervisory board ofUkrnafta.

Mr. Zhevago entered politics in 1998, winning the elections to the Verkhovna Rada and receiving the mandate of People's Deputy of Ukraine. He was re-elected in 2002. In the fourth convocation of the Verkhovna Rada Zhevago was a member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE.

In 2006 and 2007 he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the political force Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc. But in the 2012 elections he ran as a self-nominated candidate.

Konstantin Zhevago owns the soccer club Vorskla (Poltava).

In 2019, the AvtoKrAZ plant, owned by oligarch Konstantin Zhevago, became a defendant in a case of non-payment of fines in the amount of more than six and a half million hryvnias for late execution of an order for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In the fall of 2019 Konstantin Zhevago was put on the wanted list by the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine. He is suspected of embezzlement and legalization of two and a half billion hryvnias of the bank "Finance and Credit".
