Dmytro Razumkov
Dmytro Razumkov is a political technologist, former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation.
Brief biography
Dmytro Razumkov was born on October 8, 1983 in Berdychev, Zhytomyr region.
Dmytro Razumkov received his higher education at KIMO and later at the National University of the Tax Service of Ukraine.
Dmytro Razumkov started his career as a political scientist in 2006.
In 2006, Dmytro Razumkov became a member of the Party of Regions. According to Razumkov himself, he joined the party on principle because he did not support Viktor Yushchenko and his policies. He was a member of the Party of Regions until 2010.
From 2010 to 2014, Razumkov cooperated with the well-known Ukrainian politician Serhiy Tihipko.
During the 2019 presidential election in Ukraine, Dmytro Razumkov served as the speaker of the campaign headquarters of Ukrainian presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky.
After Volodymyr Zelensky won the election, Dmytro Razumkov was appointed as the new head of the Servant of the People party, succeeding Ivan Bakanov.
Language issue
In public, Dmytro Razumkov does not speak Ukrainian on principle, and uses only Russian. According to him, the language issue is not the time when there is a war in the country. Razumkov also claims that in this way he demonstrates that he, as a Russian-speaking population, does not need to be protected by the forces of the Russian Armed Forces.
Early elections to the Rada 2019
Dmytro Razumkov took part in the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which were held in July 2019. Dmytro Razumkov ran for the People' s Deputy of Ukraine from the Servant of the People party, in the pre-election list of which he held the first position.
In the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation, Dmytro Razumkov was elected speaker of parliament.
Retirement
On October 7, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada decided to dismiss Razumkov from the post of speaker of the Parliament. The decision was taken after the politician entered into an open confrontation with the presidential party "Servant of the People". In particular, Razumkov criticized the so-called law on oligarchs, which the president insisted on adopting.

Dmytro Razumkov's father is the Ukrainian politician Alexander Razumkov, whose name is given to the Ukrainian Center for Analytical and Political Research.
Dmytro Razumkov is married and raising two children.
