Short biography of Anton Gerashchenko

Anton Gerashchenko was born on February 10, 1979 in the city of Kharkiv. He was raised by his mother and grandmother.

Primary and secondary education Gerashchenko received in Kharkov Gymnasium № 45. After graduating from high school, he entered Kharkov University of Economics, majoring in business economics. After graduation in 2000 he got a qualification of an economist. In addition, Gerashchenko has a second higher education, which he received at the Christian Humanitarian-Economic Open University in Odessa.

Gerashchenko began to build a career while he was still a student at the university. So, in his last year of study, he began working in the AK "Kharkovoblenergo". There he held the position of a specialist in planning of the coordination department of the use of resources of the enterprise.

However, after several years of working in his specialty, Gerashchenko went into politics. So, in 2002 he became a deputy of the Kharkiv City Council.

From 2005 till 2010 he was the head of the Krasnograd district state administration.

In addition, Anton Gerashchenko was a member of the People's Union "Our Ukraine" (NUNS) party and also headed the NUNS Krasnograd district organization.

In the spring of 2014, Gerashchenko was appointed a freelance advisor to Arsen Avakov, who was then acting minister of interior.

After the parliamentary elections in the fall of 2014, Gerashchenko became an MP and represented the People's Front faction in parliament. And in the fall of 2017, the politician announced that he was leaving his position as a freelance adviser to Minister Avakov.

In September 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Anton Gerashchenko as one of the six deputies of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

The politician Anton Gerashchenko is married twice. His first wife is Victoria Gretzkaya-Mirgorodskaya. In the marriage the couple had a son Anton. The second wife is Olesya Gerashchenko (maiden name Shambur). In 2016, the couple had a daughter.
