German minister cancels trip to EURO 2012 in Ukraine
"I think it is necessary to send a political signal. Therefore I have canceled the planned trip to one of the German national team's matches in Ukraine," said the representative of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP).
As reported, the entire staff of the European Commission had cancelled their visit to EURO 2012 in Ukraine because of the situation surrounding the conclusion of the ailing Yulia Tymoshenko. The visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, according to her spokesman, will depend on political developments in Ukraine, and the decision will be taken immediately before the championship.
